ANKARA (AA) - Spain is maintaining a partial closure for entries and exits through its north African enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla, according to a resolution published Thursday in the Official State Gazette.
The closure will be temporary and it extends a previous policy that ended Dec. 15, according to the resolution by the Interior Ministry. It will take effect at midnight Friday.
The partial closure will be maintained until "a new small border traffic regime" takes effect and the facilities of the posts are adapted to said regulation, it said as modernization works are being carried out at these posts that temporarily reduce their capacity.
Only those who meet the requirements to move to the rest of the Schengen area and cross-border workers with a valid Foreigner Identity Card will be able to access the posts, according to the policy.
