ISTANBUL (AA) - Spain on Friday shared how it "always" sided with Ukraine over the past year as the Moscow-Kyiv war marked its first anniversary.
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's office La Moncloa shared the details of Spain's support in a video message with the caption "Spain with Ukraine. Always."
Around 168,000 temporary protections were granted by Spain to Ukrainian refugees and 63% of people with temporary protections are women, the video message said.
Almost 39,000 Ukrainian students have been educated in Spain, while a Universities-Refuge Action Plan has been approved to accommodate students, researchers, and staff.
Underlining medical supplies, food, weapons, vehicles, and camp supplies sent by the Spanish Armed Forces, it said the country has launched a humanitarian package worth more than €32 million ($33.8 million).
Also, some 450 Ukrainian soldiers and fighters have been trained in Spain.
Spain has welcomed 22 scientists from Ukraine who already have work in the country, according to the message.
Additionally, 77,800 Individual Health Cards have been issued to people from Ukraine, it noted.
