'We will continue to advocate for peace and an end to the war,' Prime Minister Sanchez says

GENEVA (AA) - The Spanish premier on Friday welcomed a decision of the UN court on Israel's onslaught on Gaza, urging parties to apply the decreed provisional measures.
"We welcome the decision of the International Court of Justice and call on the parties to implement the interim measures it has decreed," Pedro Sanchez said on X.
"We will continue to advocate for peace and an end to the war, the release of hostages, access to humanitarian aid and the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside Israel, so that both nations can coexist in peace and security," he added.
The International Court of Justice ordered Israel to take "all measures within its power" to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza, where it has killed more than 26,000 people since the Oct. 7 Hamas incursion, but fell short of calling for an immediate cease-fire.
South Africa, which brought the case, had asked the court for provisional measures against Israel.
