ISTANBUL (AA) - Numerous species across the globe, from coral reefs to mammals, birds, and many others, face greater risk of extinction due to climate change, which has landed a blow to their ability to adapt to new environments.
Data from the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) indicates that about 28% of evaluated species worldwide are under the threat of extinction as record-high temperatures continue to rise, leading to potential population declines.
Urgent measures, such as habitat protection, are crucial in conserving endangered species hit by global warming and in safeguarding biodiversity and human well-being.
