ANTALYA, Turkiye (AA) - A panel, "Regional and global pathways to Peace and Prosperity," was held as part of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF), of which Anadolu Agency is a global communication partner.

Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani and Albania Prime Minister Edi Rama attended as speakers.

Bio said although there are wars and conflicts in many countries, the global focus is only on some countries, stressing double standards of international communities and the media.

Pointing out that people of African origin are exposed to discrimination, Bio expressed sadness about the situation.

He said that there are 1.2 billion people in Africa and African countries could not find enough places in the UN Security Council, adding they only represented 5% in the decision-making process.

Bio also said Africa was left alone during the coronavirus pandemic and the continent felt it more with securing and obtaining COVID-19 vaccines.

Meanwhile, Osmani said what is happening in Ukraine and other regions show how important peace is, stressing that it is vital to achieve and maintain peace.

She said Kosovo fulfills the necessary obligations to become a member of the EU, shares the same values with the EU and that it will be beneficial to reach candidacy status in a short time.

Rama highlighted that the Western Balkans is at a fragile point in Europe, noting that there are NATO countries, non-NATO countries and countries with different backgrounds in the region.

He added that he met Turkiye's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday and discussed those issues.
