Sweden decides to lift COVID restrictions

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AA) – Sweden on Thursday announced the lifting of COVID restrictions.

The decision was taken upon suggestion by Public Health Agency, said the Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson in a press meeting.

Arguing that the pandemic is under control, she stressed that COVID didn’t harm public health services, and the situation is stable in intensive care units of the hospitals.

Meanwhile, the Public Health Agency reported that COVID-related fatalities rose to 16,028 and the number of infections exceeded 2.22 M.
On Tuesday, Denmark became the first EU country that scrapped most restrictions.

It was followed, on the same day, by Norway, which lifted its ban on serving alcohol after 11 p.m. and the limit on private gatherings of no more than ten people.
