ANKARA (AA) – The Syrian regime on Monday named a new ambassador to Tunisia, for the first time since 2011.
The move came a few months after Damascus and Tunis restored their diplomatic relations.
According to Syria’s state news agency SANA, Muhammed Muhammed was sworn in as Syria’s new envoy to Tunisia before the head of the Syrian regime, Bashar al-Assad.
In April, Tunisia appointed Mohammed Al Mudhabi as the country’s new ambassador to Syria, a few weeks after the two countries agreed to reestablish their diplomatic ties.
