ANKARA (AA) - Turkish airport operator TAV Airports has won contracts to operate two Saudi Arabian airports, the company said Monday.
TAV will develop and operate airports in Buraydah in Qassim province and provincial capital Hail alongside partner Al Rajhi Group for 30 years.
“Providing service to approximately 2.5 million passengers last year, Qassim and Hail airports will reach approximately 6.5 million passenger capacity per year thanks to the new investments,” TAV said in a statement.
With the additional airports, TAV will operate 12 airports outside Turkey and five in the country. CEO Sani Sener said passenger numbers at all its overseas airports were forecast to rise to 25 million annually.
“TAV has become one of the world's highly-preferred brands thanks to the know-how acquired in airport construction and operation business,” he said.
