DOHA (AA) – Anadolu’s documentary, The Evidence, which exposes Israeli war crimes in the Gaza Strip, was screened in Qatar's capital Doha on Tuesday.

The event was organized at the Qatar National Museum under the auspices of the Gulf country's Foreign Ministry.

Speaking at the opening, Qatar's State Minister for International Cooperation Lolwah Al-Khater expressed satisfaction with the event’s organization and praised the documentary for its comprehensive coverage of the events in the Palestinian enclave, where Israel has killed more than 41,000 Palestinians since last October.

“As a result of our cooperation, today we will watch the documentary, The Evidence, by Anadolu, which shows what happened in Gaza. Once again, I would like to thank all those who contributed to the preparation of this documentary,” Al-Khater said.

The film was shown after her speech, followed by a panel discussing its impact in providing evidence of Israeli actions.

The panel, moderated by Professor Sami Hermez from Northwestern University, featured speakers Mohammed Abdul Aleem, CEO of Human Assistance & Development International (HADI), and Abdulkadir Karakelle, producer of the documentary and Anadolu’s special productions director.

Karakelle emphasized the efforts behind the documentary, saying that the real challenge was faced by the journalists working under difficult conditions on the ground to deliver these images.

He highlighted the importance of reaching a broad audience. Karakelle noted that they are getting very positive feedback and viewers think the documentary should be watched by millions of people, especially by all decision-makers around the world.

He went on to say that the people "who should actually watch the documentary are not the decision-makers but the international community." People should watch this documentary so that they can mobilize politicians in their countries to make decisions against Israel, he emphasized.

Aleem said the documentary will be screened at various locations across the US through HADI, utilizing technologies such as augmented reality to enhance viewers’ understanding of the situation in Gaza.

Later speaking to Anadolu, Al-Khater congratulated Anadolu for its efforts. “We need to preserve this evidence condemning Israel’s crimes, which it has been trying to conceal for months. But such books and documentaries prove the crimes committed by Israel,” she said.

Türkiye’s Ambassador to Doha Mustafa Goksu also praised the documentary, and acknowledged the role of Turkish media in highlighting the situation in Palestine. “I would like to thank Anadolu Agency for its efforts in producing this documentary and exposing the crimes committed by Israel during the months of attacks,” he said.

Anadolu board member Busra Tosun Durmus, Anadolu Publications and Productions Coordinator Oguz Karakas, Director of Marketing and Business Development Erman Yuksel, Hazal Duran, Director of Strategic Communication and Brand Management at Anadolu, and Ahmet Furkan Sahin, Global Marketing and Business Development Manager at Anadolu, also attended the event along with diplomatic representatives, students, and members of the press.

The documentary, which exposes the attacks by Israel on Palestinians in Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023, was filmed over a period of 2.5 months by Anadolu reporters.

The footage from Gaza included in the documentary was entirely shot by Anadolu staffers.

Experts and representatives of international organizations, including the Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, the UN, and Situ Studios, contributed to the documentary.

The production, which serves as compelling evidence of the events in Gaza, had its promotional launch on April 26 at the UK parliament. A book by the same name has also been published by Anadolu.
