STOCKHOLM (AA) - Thousands of people held a protest rally on Sunday in Sweden’s capital in solidarity with Palestine.
Gathering in Odenplan plaza in central Stockholm, they demanded an immediate cease-fire in Gaza while demonstrating against Israel’s relentless attacks on the besieged enclave.
They also chanted pro-Palestinian slogans including "End to Genocide.”
Later, they marched towards parliament, shouting "Free Palestine."
They also protested against Swedish officials over their support for Israel and accused the government of being complicit in Israeli war crimes.
The number of Palestinians killed in Israeli bombardments in the Gaza Strip has risen to 9,770, the Health Ministry in the blockaded enclave announced Sunday.
“The death toll as a result of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7 is 9,770, including 4,800 children and 2,550 women,” the ministry said in a statement.
Around 1,540 Israelis have been killed in the conflict.
