Top Afghan diplomat to attend Trans-Himalaya cooperation meeting in Tibet
China will be hosting 2-day event in autonomous Tibet region from Wednesday

ISTANBUL (AA) – Afghanistan's acting Foreign Minister Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi left for China on Tuesday to attend the third meeting of the Trans-Himalayan Forum.
According to the Afghan Foreign Ministry, the forum will discuss economic cooperation, regional connectivity, and climate changes among the countries around the Himalayan Mountains.
Muttaqi is expected to hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the forum, it added.
China is set to hold the Trans-Himalaya Forum for International Cooperation in Tibet from Wednesday.
The two-day meeting will be held in the Nyingchi city of China's autonomous Tibet region.
The Trans-Himalaya Forum was initiated in 2018 to deepen practical cooperation among regional countries on various subjects, including geographical connectivity, environmental protection, ecological preservation, and enhancing cultural linkages.
The theme of this year's meeting is ecological civilization and environmental protection. The last in-person meeting of the forum was held in 2019.
