Trump blasts US Supreme Court's decision to uphold block on deporting migrants under Alien Enemies Act

ISTANBUL (AA) - US President Donald Trump on Friday blasted Supreme Court's decision to uphold block on deporting Venezuelan migrants Alien Enemies Act.

“THE SUPREME COURT WON’T ALLOW US TO GET CRIMINALS OUT OF OUR COUNTRY," Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

The outcome of the Supreme Court’s decision will allow more "criminals" to enter the US, causing "great harm" to the American public, he argued.

The president also claimed the ruling would further encourage illegal immigration, leading to widespread disorder.

Trump also argued that the Supreme Court is preventing him from carrying out the responsibilities for which he was elected.

Stating that "sleepy Joe Biden allowed MILLIONS of Criminal Aliens to come into our Country without any “PROCESS” but, in order to get them out of our Country, we have to go through a long and extended PROCESS," he added: "This is a bad and dangerous day for America."

Earlier on Friday, the Supreme Court blocked Trump from deporting Venezuelan immigrants in northern Texas under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act.

The unsigned opinion, with justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito dissenting, criticized the administration’s deportation notices, which gave detainees 24 hours and little guidance on contesting removal.

Citing the mistaken deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia to El Salvador, the justices said detainees face “particularly weighty” risks, especially when the government cannot reverse wrongful removals.
