ANKARA (AA) - U.S. President Donald Trump will meet his Brazilian counterpart Jair Bolsonaro on Saturday at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, said White House.
The leaders will discuss "opportunities to build a more prosperous, secure, and democratic world," it said in a statement on Friday.
"As leaders of the Hemisphere’s two largest economies, they will also discuss opportunities for restoring democracy in Venezuela, bringing peace to the Middle East, implementing pro-growth trade policies, and investing in infrastructure," it added.
Also, Trump will thank Brazil for its "strong alliance" with the U.S.
While the U.S. promotes "major non-NATO ally" Brazil to begin the process for its full membership of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Brazil follows the steps of Washington for foreign policy, especially on Venezuela.
Both leaders support Venezuela's opposition leader Juan Guaido against Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro since the beginning of 2019. However, Guaido has yet to challenge the Maduro government's presence after his popularity faded and failed to receive sufficient military support.
