Tunisian, Algerian interior ministers discuss strengthening cooperation

TUNIS /ISTANBUL (AA) - The interior ministers from Tunisia and Algeria discussed ways to enhance relations on Thursday.

A statement from Tunisia said Khaled Nouri received a call from his Algerian counterpart, Ibrahim Murad, where they highlighted the strong cooperation between the two nations, citing bilateral committees, joint working groups and frequent high-level visits as key contributors to the growing partnership.

The ministers emphasized the importance strengthening ties, particularly “in areas under the jurisdiction of their ministries.” They proposed holding a second session of a bilateral commission for the promotion and development of border regions.

The first session was held in Algiers at the end of January 2024.
