ISTANBUL (AA) - Turk Eximbank announced on Friday that it created a special financing package for women entrepreneurs.
The Eximbank aims to raise the share of woman entrepreneurs in exporters with the credit support, which was announced on International Women's Day, March 8.
Under the package, the Eximbank provided a credit limit -- nearly $120 million -- to private-lender QNB Finansbank, the bank said in a press release.
It will extend credit to exporter firms, of which over 50 percent shares are held by business-women.
Speaking in the signing ceremony, Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan said Turkey aims to support woman entrepreneurs more.
Pekcan also said that the Eximbank would prioritize women entrepreneurs in all credit programs during 2019.
Since Turk Eximbank was founded in 1987, it has conducted export credit, buyer credit, credit insurance, and guarantee programs aimed at developing economic and political ties between Turkey and other countries.
