ANKARA (AA) - Turkish opposition Nationalist Movement Party’s (MHP) leader called on main opposition leader to present the document about alleged finances of the country’s president and his circle to a court.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Devlet Bahceli, the MHP Leader, called on Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu to behave "responsibly".
"The most rational and legitimate way is that Mr. Kilicdaroglu should immediately present the documents to the court," said Bahceli.
He criticized Kilicdaroglu’s attitude, which he called "far from sincerity and honesty".
"It is not clear whether the documents are correct or not," he said.
On Tuesday, Kilicdaroglu, in a speech to party lawmakers, presented documents he alleged were evidence of his claims that relatives of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had money abroad.
Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party accused the main opposition leader of “lies”, calling on him to present the documents in court to prove the claims.
Erdogan rejected the allegations and vowed to resign if they could be proved.
