WASHINGTON (AA) - Turkey submitted fresh evidence on the extradition of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO)'s leader to the U.S., according to the Ankara’s justice minister Wednesday.

Abdulhamit Gul met his American counterpart Tuesday in Washington and said evidence was submitted to William Barr.

FETO and Fetullah Gulen are accused of orchestrating a defeated coup on July 15, 2016 in Turkey which left 251 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.

The FETO leader has lived in self-imposed exile in Pennsylvania since 1999.

Ankara requested Gulen's extradition from the U.S. several times.

Gul told reporters the meeting between Turkish and American dignitaries was productive and he hoped it would yield good results.
