Turkey's annual inflation to fall in February: Survey

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's annual inflation rate is expected to fall to 10.03 percent in February, according to a panel of economists polled by Anadolu Agency on Thursday.

The median of the estimates for February by 20 economists was a 0.52 percent rise compared to the previous month, with the highest forecast standing at 0.71 percent, and the lowest at 0.33 percent.

The annual inflation rate in January was 10.35 percent.

The economists also projected that Turkey's year-end inflation would be 9.48 percent.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) is due to announce the country's consumer price index figures for February on Monday.

In January, consumer prices in Turkey rose 10.35 percent year-on-year, marking a 1.57 percentage point decrease compared with the figure in the previous month, according to TurkStat.
