Turkey's benchmark stock index ends week down

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index ended the week down 3.45 percent to close at 99,835.31 points on Friday.

After starting the day at 103,653.50 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 3,572.48 points from the previous close.

On a weekly basis, the benchmark index posted 3.36 percent decline, as it has surged around 12.34 percent since the beginning of 2019.

One ounce of gold was sold for $1,313.15 at the daily close in Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, versus $1,320.00 at the close on Thursday.

With a day range of $66.52 to $67.97, the price of Brent oil was around $66.63 per barrel as of 6.15 p.m. local time (1515GMT) on Friday.

At the beginning of 2019, the price of Brent oil was around $53 per barrel.
