Turkey's Borsa Istanbul closes at fresh new record

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index closed higher on Wednesday to hit another all-time high of 1,624.09 points.

After starting the day at 1,618.06 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 8.45 points, or 0.52%, from Tuesday's close of 1,615.64 points.

This was the fifth consecutive trading day that the BIST 100 posted an all-time high, and the sixth day in a row the index closed with gains.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,823.10 by market close, down from $1,825.10 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was down 0.26% to $84.56 per barrel as of 6.26 p.m. local time (1526GMT).
