Turkey’s Borsa Istanbul closes Monday with losses

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s benchmark stock index closed at 2,056.36 points on Monday, ending with losses for the second consecutive trading day.

Starting the day at 2,007.04 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index lost 28.11 points, or 1.35%, from Friday’s closing of 2,084.47 points.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,801.55 by the day’s end, down from $1,810.15 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was down 5.2% to $69.68 per barrel as of 6.49 p.m. local time (1549GMT).
