Turkey's Borsa Istanbul closes Thursday with new records

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index ended with gains on Thursday to hit another record closing of 1,736.88 points, while it hit a new intraday all-time high of 1,759.19 points during the session.

After starting the day at 1,710.05 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 29.84 points, or 1.75%, from Wednesday's close of 1,707.04 points.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,859.20 by market close, slightly down from $1,859.50 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was up 0.51% to $80.69 per barrel as of 6.26 p.m. local time (1526GMT).
