Turkey's Borsa Istanbul closes Tuesday with gains

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 1,809.65 points, up 0.05% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 1,803.91 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 0.86 point from the previous close of 1,808.79 points.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,792.60 by market close, up from $1,789.50 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was down 3.4% to $70.74 per barrel as of 6.49 p.m. local time (1549GMT).
