Turkey’s Borsa Istanbul closes Tuesday with losses

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s benchmark stock index closed at 1,892.02 points on Tuesday, ending with losses for the third consecutive trading day.

Starting the day at 2,103.56 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index dropped by 164.34 points, or 7.99%, from Monday’s closing of 2,056.36 points.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,793 by the day’s end, down from $1,801.55 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul’s Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was up 2.15% to $73.06 per barrel as of 6.22 p.m. local time (1522GMT).
