Turkey's Borsa Istanbul closes Wednesday with new record

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index ended Wednesday with a new record-high closing level of 2,162.26 points.

Starting the day at 2,190.61 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 4.52 points, or 0.21%, from the previous close of 2,157.74 points.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,768.80 by market close, down from $1,782.80 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was down 1.5% to $72.62 per barrel as of 6.24 p.m. local time (1524GMT).
