Turkey's Borsa Istanbul closes week up

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index closed the week at 98,758.96 points on Friday, up 0.60% from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 98,449.46 points. As of daily close, it earned 587.98 points from Wednesday's close of 98,170.98 points.

On Thursday, the index was closed due to the National Sovereignty and Children's Day.

The price of one ounce of gold was $1,738.10 by market close, up from $1,699.10 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was over $21.30 level per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) on Friday.
