Turkey's Borsa Istanbul closes with new records

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index ended with gains on Thursday to hit another record closing of 1,625.06 points, while it hit a new intraday all-time high level of 1,643.82 points during the session.

After starting the day at 1,622.02 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 0.97 point, or 0.06%, from Wednesday's close of 1,624.09 points.

This was the sixth consecutive trading day that the BIST 100 posted an all-time high, and the seventh day in a row the index closed with gains.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,860 at 6.26 p.m. local time (1526GMT) for a 0.6% daily gain, according to official figures.

The price of Brent crude oil was up 0.3% to $82.90 per barrel at the time.
