Turkey's Borsa Istanbul down at midweek close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index fell by 0.12% to close Wednesday at 1,083.91 points.

After starting the day at 1,086.09 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 1.28 points from Tuesday's close of 1,085.19 points.

During the day, the index hovered between 1,079.83 and 1,091.30 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was 799 billion Turkish liras ($108 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 13.3 billion Turkish liras ($1.8 billion).

On the third transaction day of the week, 26 stocks on the index rose, 27 fell, and the remaining were flat compared to Tuesday.
