Turkey's Borsa Istanbul down at Tuesday close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s benchmark stock index closed Tuesday at 1,489.56 points, falling by 0.39%.

Starting the day at 1,489.32 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was down by 5.87 points from Monday’s close of 1,495.43 points.

During the day, the index hovered between 1,474.76 points and 1,506.89 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.1 trillion Turkish liras ($150 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 42.4 billion Turkish liras ($5.8 billion).

The price of Brent crude oil was around $52.86 per barrel as of 6:10 p.m. local time (1510GMT) on Tuesday.
