Turkey's Borsa Istanbul flat at close

BIST 100 index falls 0.03 percent, US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate at 5.2860

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index decreased by 0.03 percent to close at 90,974.79 points on Thursday.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 91,793.23 points and lost 27.38 points from Wednesday's close of 91,002.17 points.

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was flat at 5.2860 at close, compared to Wednesday's close of 5.2840.

The euro/lira rate slightly rose at close; 6.0320 versus 6.0190 at the previous close.

One British pound was traded for 6.6970 Turkish liras, compared to the GBP/TRY rate of 6.7130 at close on Wednesday.

In Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, the price of one ounce of gold was around $1,270.80 by market close, down from $1,275.00 a day ago.

Brent crude oil price was $53.87 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) Thursday, versus $55.29 at previous close.
