Turkey's Borsa Istanbul flat at open

BIST 100 index slightly rises 0.04% from last close, USD/TRY exchange rate stands around 6.18

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index started the day up 0.04% or 40.30 points to open at 90,312.49 points on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index went down 1.32% to close at 90,272.19 points with a daily trading volume of nearly 5.9 billion Turkish liras ($954 million).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.1820 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Thursday, compared to 6.1860 at Wednesday's close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 6.9350, versus 6.9330, and one British pound was exchanged for 8.0590 Turkish liras, compared to 8.0550.

One barrel of Brent oil was sold for $69.67 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Thursday.
