Turkey's Borsa Istanbul posts new record at weekly close

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index ended with gains on Friday to hit another record closing of 1,638.50 points

After starting the day at 1,631.43 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 13.44 points, or 0.83%, from Thursday's close of 1,625.06 points.

This was the seventh consecutive trading day that the BIST 100 posted an all-time high, and the eight day in a row that the index closed with gains.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,861 at 6.43 p.m. local time (1543GMT) for a 0.05% daily loss, according to official figures.

The price of Brent crude oil was down 0.7% to $82.30 per barrel at the time.
