Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at open
BIST 100 index climbs over 190 points, while Turkish lira gains value against foreign currencies

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose by 0.21 percent or 191.88 points to open at 93,365.15 points on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 1.22 percent to close the day at 93,173.27 points with a daily trading volume of 6.48 billion Turkish liras ($1.19 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 5.4360 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared with Tuesday's closing rate of 5.4440.
The euro/lira rate also dropped to 6.2040, versus 6.2270 at the last close. One British pound traded for 7.00 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY rate was 7.0150 by market close on Tuesday.
The price of Brent oil increased to around $60.70 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Wednesday, versus $60.16 at Tuesday's closing.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey will hold the first Monetary Policy Committee Meeting of 2019 to determine the interest rates, on midday.
