Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at open
BIST 100 index earns over 900 points versus previous close, while Turkish lira gains in value against foreign currencies

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose by 0.93%, or 912.97 points, to start Wednesday at 98,799.33 points.
On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index surged by 0.58% to close the day at 97,886.36 points with a daily trading volume of 6.4 billion Turkish liras ($1.09 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 5.8070 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, compared to 5.8370 at Tuesday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also fell to 6.4530, versus 6.5020, and one British pound traded for 7.4920 Turkish liras, while it was 7.5600 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $59.60 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Wednesday.
