Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at opening
BIST 100 index opens 0.31 pct higher to over 90,000 points; US dollar/Turkish lira rate stands around 3.62

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark index started Tuesday with a 283.14-point increase to open at 91,185.25.
In opening transactions on the second business day of the week, the BIST 100 index rose 0.31 percent.
The banking and holding sector indices went up 0.33 percent and 0.30 percent, respectively.
Among all sectors, the mining sector index was the best performer -- up 0.58 percent -- while the informatics sector index started the day with the biggest decline, falling 0.29 percent.
At Monday's closing session, the benchmark index was up 410.72 points, or 0.45 percent, to close at 90,902.11 points, with a total trading volume of 2.9 billion Turkish liras (approximately $798 million).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate declined to 3.6260 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, compared with 3.6350 at Monday's close.
On Tuesday, there will be no major local data announcements. International credit agency Moody’s has revised Turkish banks’ outlook downward to “Negative” in line with the country's sovereign rating.
