Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at Tuesday open

Index rises slightly by 146 points versus Monday's close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index increased by 0.14% or 146.21 points to 103,519.28 points on Tuesday's opening session.

As of the end of Monday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 0.52% to 103,373.07 points with a daily trading volume of 5.8 billion Turkish liras ($1 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 5.5990 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, down from 5.6120 on Monday.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 6.2400, versus 6.2500, and one British pound traded for 6.8230 Turkish liras, compared to 6.8620 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent oil sold for $64.10 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Tuesday.
