Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at Wednesday open

BIST 100 index gains 2.15 points from previous close

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,551.30 points on Wednesday, up 0.14% or 2.15 points from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 1.23% to close at 1,549.15 points on Tuesday, with a daily trading volume of 26.1 billion Turkish liras ($3.42 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 7.6400 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), down from 7.6370 at Tuesday's close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 9.0700 versus 9.0720, and one British pound traded for 10.6200 Turkish liras, compared to 10.6160 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent oil was sold for around $66.80 as of 10:00 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
