Turkey's energy import bill up 12.5% in April 2019
Total imports cost nearly $17.46 billion in April, with energy accounting for 20%

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's energy import bill increased by nearly 12.5% to over $3.50 billion in April compared to the same month of 2018, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Friday.
The data shows that Turkey's overall import bill, including energy and other items, reached $17.46 billion in April, with energy accounting for almost 20%.
The country's crude oil imports showed almost a 61% rise over the same period compared to April 2018.
Turkey imported approximately 2.37 million tons of crude oil in April, up from 1.47 million tons during the same period in 2018.
