Turkish Airlines cancels some flights due to global tech outage
National flag carrier experiencing problems with ticketing, check-in, and reservation processes

National flag carrier Turkish Airlines on Friday has cancelled some of its flights due to a mass tech outages worldwide which hit its information systems.
"A technical problem has occurred at a supplier that provides services globally and affects various sectors, including the aviation industry, and as a result of this problem, some of our flights have been cancelled," the carrier posted on X platform.
Flights will gradually return to normal as soon as possible, it stressed.
The airlines said it is also currently experiencing problems with ticketing, check-in, and reservation processes.
Turkish Airlines works on reducing its operational intensity in line with the solution of the software-based problem, it said.
The global interruption in devices running Windows operating system was attributed to a software update issued by US based cyber-security firm CrowdStrike.
CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz said on X platform: "CrowdStrike is actively working with customers impacted by a defect found in a single content update for Windows hosts."
