Turkish benchmark stock index up at open

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 8,115.99 points, up slightly by 0.11% or 8.8 points from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Monday at 8,107.19 points, up 1.85%, with a daily trading volume of 101 billion liras ($3.49 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.9320 as of 10.05 a.m. local time (0705GMT), the euro/lira rate stood at 31.6830, while a British pound traded for 36.5240 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $80.10 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,016.60.
