DUHOK, Iraq (AA) - The Turkish Red Crescent on Tuesday distributed food aid among 3,000 Yazidi families in northern Iraq.
The food packages were distributed to the families living at a refugee camp in Duhok.
Speaking on the occasion, Turkey’s Consul General in Erbil Hakan Karacay stressed that violence and terrorism brought "great miseries" in Iraq.
Yazidi families, who escaped Daesh terrorist group, cannot return to their homes because of another terrorist organization PKK, Karacay said.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of some 40,000 people, including women and children.
