ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkish modular construction company Karmod on Wednesday announced the launch of a new aparthotel project on Greece’s Corfu island, utilizing its prefabricated steel structure construction system.

According to a company statement, Karmod offers solutions that overcome construction restrictions in tourism regions through its steel structure system.

Karmod Prefabricated Sales Manager Yusuf Aktas said their steel structures enable the construction of safe, dust-free, and noise-free buildings in tourism areas.

He said that unlike traditional methods, their prefabricated steel systems are produced off-site and assembled quietly even during the tourism season, allowing projects to be completed without delays or seasonal restrictions.

Aktas said their first project on Corfu involves constructing a steel-frame boutique apartment hotel, featuring 74-square-meter 2+1 units with a cassette roof system and specially designed insulation to ensure durability.

He added that the prefabricated steel structure, engineered for snow load capacity and wall thickness, was transported overland to the island and is being assembled by their regional teams on site.
