ANKARA (AA) — The Turkish treasury and finance minister received on Tuesday the head of the World Bank Group, with the two officials discussing Türkiye's country partnership framework (CPF) covering the 2024-2028 fiscal years.

Mehmet Simsek and Ajay Banga discussed in the capital Ankara possible collaborations in various areas including resilient cities, energy transformation, infrastructure, support for small- and medium- enterprises (SMEs), and employment, Simsek said on X.

In terms of active portfolio size at the World Bank, Türkiye ranks second globally and first in its region, Simsek said.

He thanked the international financial institution for its confidence in Türkiye's medium-term economic program and the "support it provides to our country."

In April, the World Bank Group announced the CPF for Türkiye to support the country's transition to high-income status. The framework will focus on three key development strategies in the country — productivity growth, jobs and better public service delivery, and resilience against natural disasters, according to the bank.
