Turkish firm builds production facility in Holland

Turmaks establishes a facility to produce silicopolymer recycling technology in the Netherlands

ISTANBUL (AA) - A Turkish company, Turmaks established a facility to produce silicopolymer recycling technology in the Netherlands, the company said Wednesday.

The company made a 3.5-million-euro ($3.6 million) investment in the Dutch city of Sittard.

Thanks to the silicopolymer technology, whose know-how belongs to Turmaks, manhole covers, soil materials, shipping pallets and construction molds are produced and exported.

The Turkish firm established a production facility in the Netherlands to reduce exports expenditures and improve its competitiveness in the European market.

The facility will operate within a Dutch company, ERPlastics BV.

In the first stage, 40 people are expected to be hired and as part of the firm's three-year-goal 120 people are planned to be employed.

Within the scope of this goal, the investment in the Netherlands is expected to be worth 20 million euros.

Turmaks, established in 1997, is a major Turkish manufacturer of rapid support and mobile field hospitals. The company has completed several healthcare projects in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Darfur (in western Sudan), Cote d'Ivoire, Algeria, Mali, Nigeria, Ghana and the Maldives.
