Construction site structures to be used in construction of oil pipeline

By Enes Ege

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish firm Karmod has built container construction site structures for the construction of an oil pipeline in the East African country of Tanzania.

The completed construction site structures will be used in the construction of the pipeline where oil extracted from Uganda will be transported to a port in Tanzania.

Karmod CEO Abdullah Yuceer stressed that the next-generation container structures the firm developed are used at large construction site projects across Africa.

Stating that the container structures are specially developed for use in harsh field conditions, he said: "Our container structures, with a completely sandwich panel system from wall to roof, are specially developed for use in construction site environments with harsh field conditions.

"They can be used in any environment, regardless of extreme hot climate or cold weather conditions. Its high insulation and ergonomics of use make it stand out."

With these advantages, construction sites like to use them in large projects, he added.

The installation of eight blocks of construction site structures with a capacity of 1,000 people has been completed under the pipeline project, he said.

Stating that the construction site structures will be used as the central buildings of the oil pipeline project, he noted: "The structures, whose pre-production was completed in Istanbul, were disassembled and shipped to Tanzania by sea and from there to the construction site.

"The installation of the blocks was completed within days and made ready for the use of the project."

Since the firm's container construction site structures have a bolt-nut and plug-in system, on-site installation goes very quickly, he said.

He added that the construction site building group includes areas such as worker and engineer dormitories, cafeteria buildings, construction site management office, technical office, health center, clubhouse, and laundromat.
