Turkish foreign minister to visit Egypt

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will pay an official visit to Egypt on Friday to discuss bilateral ties, regional developments, and global issues with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.

Fidan's visit comes on the invitation of Shoukry.

Both ministers are also expected to discuss the strengthening of bilateral cooperation.

This July, Türkiye and Egypt raised their diplomatic ties and appointed ambassadors.

Relations between the two countries had been at the level of charges d'affaires since 2013.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
