Turkish manufacturing capacity utilization down in August

ISTANBUL (AA) – The capacity utilization rate in the Turkish manufacturing sector was at 75.7% in August, down 1.2 percentage points on a monthly basis.

The seasonally adjusted capacity utilization rate in the manufacturing industry edged down 1 percentage point to 76.1% in July.

While the highest capacity utilization in July was seen in intermediate goods at 75.9%, the lowest was in food and beverages at 72.1%.

Capacity utilization rate figures are based on the responses to a business tendency survey of local units operating in the manufacturing industry.

The Turkish Central Bank said 1,734 companies responded to the survey this month, and the data did not reflect the bank's views or predictions.
