ISTANBUL (AA)—Karmod, a Turkish prefabricated housing manufacturer, completed a new residential project in Komotini, a city in northern Greece, as demand for quick-to-install homes rises across Europe.
The project marks the company’s second residential delivery in Greece this year, Karmod said in a statement on Tuesday.
The Istanbul-based firm built 80- to 90-square-meter two-bedroom houses, customized with insulation for local climate conditions.
Prefabricated homes, produced entirely in the company’s factories and assembled on-site, reduce labor requirements, which makes them attractive in markets with high construction costs, General Manager Ugur Kadir said.
“This advantage has boosted interest in our houses in European countries where labor costs are high,” he said, citing demand from Greece, Bulgaria, and Romania.
Karmod, which sends supervisors or provides remote assistance for installations, has delivered projects in 12 European countries, including Germany, France, the UK, and Spain. Its teams are currently working on new housing developments in Portugal, France, and North Macedonia.
The company previously installed villa-style apartments on Corfu, an island off Greece’s northwest coast in the Ionian Sea, and is seeking to expand its footprint in Europe, leveraging Türkiye’s geographic proximity and road transport links to the region.
