TOKAT, Turkey (AA) - Police detained 25 people across Turkey on Tuesday for suspected links to Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), the group behind the 2016 defeated coup, according to security officials.
In northern Tokat province, 13 FETO-linked terror suspects, including six soldiers, were arrested as part of an investigation into the terror group's secret network within the judiciary, sources said.
Also, police arrested six on-duty soldiers in six different provinces as part of the central Usak-based operation over their alleged links to FETO.
Additionally, in central Aksaray province, police arrested five suspects, including two police officers and three businessmen over their alleged links to FETO.
In northwestern Canakkale province, a suspect was held on the charge of being a FETO member.
FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 15, 2016, which left 250 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.
Ankara also accuses FETO of being behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.
