Turkish stock exchange begins midweek up
BIST 100 gains 47.6 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 12.071,36, up 0.4% or 47.57 points.
On Tuesday, the BIST 100 jumped by 2.75% to close at 12,023.78 points, with a daily transaction volume of 175 billion Turkish liras ($4.07 billion).
As of 10.05 am local time (0705GMT), exchange rates stood at 43.0530 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 50.4000 to the euro, and 58.2300 to the British pound.
The price of an ounce of gold was $4,446.20, while Brent crude oil was trading at $59.8 per barrel.
